Our Story

In 2009 Dr. Giebel married his wife, Lisa, and gained two daughters, Maddy and Josie. After the wedding, Dr. Giebel moved to Hood River, OR, to be with them but continued to work out of Chehalis, WA. For a year and a half Dr. Giebel continued to commute until they made the decision that they had had enough back and forth— it was time to move.

They considered many different places and even considered living abroad. Their family took two months to travel as Dr. Giebel performed surgery in Mexico and Guam and lectured in Latvia. After the trip and much reflection, prayer and discussion, they decided to move their family to Walla Walla, WA. They chose Walla Walla with the intention to keep their family close and together as long as possible, with all the great education in the Valley, they knew this little town would make a wonderful new home.

Dr. Giebel was ready to create something new—an eye clinic that focused on lifestyle. It was 2010 when Dr. Giebel and his wife started Lifestyle Eye Center. Since then it has grown from three staff to fourteen, and they now have two locations, one in Walla Walla and one in Hermiston, OR.

Since their oldest daughter, Maddy, died tragically in 2015, the people of Walla Walla have continued to be a huge support system to the family. Dr. Giebel and his wife have enjoyed serving and being a part of this wonderful, embracing community.
